EE873 was airborne at 23. 46 on the 13th Jul 1943 from West Wickham.

Outbound, shot down by a night-fighter (Oblt Wilhelm Telge, 11./NJG1) and crashed 01.45 at Rotem (Limburg), midway between Dilsen and Elen, Belgium, and within a few kilometres of the frontier with Holland.

Those killed were buried in St-Truiden Jul 43. They have been subsequently exhumed and re-interred in Heverlee War Cemetery. The owner of the land wher etyhe plane crashed,a Mr. Sylvester Colson has built a superb memorial to the crew, please have a look at the external link to the ARS page..
