W7925 DY-S Took off from Pocklington at 5.05pm on the 08/12/1942 on a 'Gardening' exercise.

The cause of loss hs not been established.

Sgt Frederick Ernest Arthur Box - A/G - Aged 34 - (C.W.G.C.)
Sgt Cyril George Adnams - F/E - Aged 28 - (C.W.G.C.)

The plane crashed in the North Sea and later two bodies, those of Sgt Hopwood and Sgt Box, were washed ashore on the 15th Feb and the 19th Jan 1943 respectively. Both were first buried at Wittmund, but their graves are now located in Hamburg cemetery.
Their comrades are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
