i've had this book since it was newly published in 1995
i worked with son of F/SGT DAI PUGH - see p 112 / 113 - and met the gent on a few occasions .
the story behind the photo was that it was the one dai's mother kept at home - and on the original you could see flyblown stains !
Dai told me that his time in the dinghy convinced him that - should he survive - he would never be pessimistic again ! he was a teacher in LEEDS after his de-mob until his retirement . late in life he went gliding from the old airfield !
his son , ALUN PUGH , loaned me his father's log book , diaries photographs etc . his diaries covered his enlistment , time in canada and his return to UK . i used them to compile an interactive sort of Dai Pugh RAF history . got it on a cd-r somewhere .
