Known to us all as Larry. Died 11th August, 2014, aged 95,
He joined the RAF in 1937 as a Flight Engineer and took part in the very first raid of the war dropping leaflets with 166 Squadron. He went on to fly Whitleys, Hampdens and Halifaxes, completing 51 operations for 405/102/78 Squadrons. Larry accompanied Tom Wingham on trips to Europe to attend memorial ceremonies to crews lost in Holland and Belgium.
