Mrs Dorothy Patricia Dick

Pat Dick, widow of FO Sydney James Bailey (known as Bill) - died suddenly at her home on 5 January 2013, aged 87. She was active and independent right up to the time of death and recalled many happy and sad memories of her brief time with Bill. They married on 8 April 1944 and he was killed on 25 June 1944.

Pat was a long standing Associate member of the Squadron Association and Bill and Pat’s story is on the 102 website:

Flying Officer Sydney James Bailey took off in MZ753 DY-M on the 25/06/1944 for Montorguiel to take part in an operation over occupied France as a navigator His aircraft was involved in an air to air collision with a Halifax from 77 squadron. The crews from both aircraft were killed. F/O S. J. Bailey and the other crew members are buried Fontaine L’Etalon in Northern France

Details will also be published in the next newsletter

Our condolences to her daughter, Jane Dale and her family
