Bob Leyland R.I.P.

It's Bobs and his crews anniversary today and I just wanted to mark it on here. It has been an amazing year for B.C. with the memorial unveiling and to take part in the reunion at Pocklington was also wonderful. BUT I am still sad that this virile clever lad did not make it through to see his pals honoured. His passing this day in 1944 damaged our family for ever. I can only hope he looks down now and then and gives us the thumbs up for caring. Till we meet, rest assured I will sing your praises. Your admiring nephew Bill.

Hey buddy

Not been on the forum, but was aware it was the Aniv. Thoughts go to you and yours, never an easy time, but at least now, because of your hard work his memory will never be forgotten..

I think next year I may look at trying to get to Gravely on the 13th July, would be nice to do it just the once for Joe.

RIP Robert Leyland – never forgotten. xxx
For the memory of everyone who served with 102 Ceylon Squadron,
but mostly for the 1,027 in two World Wars who never came home.
Lest we never forget. http://www.102ceylonsquadron.co.uk
