Halifax JD 165 S For Sugar

Postby David P. Williams » Wed May 02, 2012 6:30 pm

The above aircraft ditched in the North Sea at 0900am on 29th Jan 1944 after an operation to Berlin. The pilot was Dai Pugh and only three of the crew survived the ditching.

A work colleague of mine is related to the flight engineer, Royston Purkiss. I already have a detailed account of the operation and the ditching taken from the book 'Bombers over Berlin' by Alan Cooper.

I have read a thread on this site that a member was promised a disc with Dai Pugh' log book and photographs on it, copied by his son.

The purpose of my enquiry is so ask whether anyone has a copy of the disc with the photographs on, as I would like a copy of any photograph showing the crew together, if one exists!

Any help would be very much appreciated,

thank you,

David Williams
