Does anyone know who Group captain G. H. Russell DFC was ??

A few years ago, I picked up a silver dish given to him from the personnel of RAF Pocklington....I'm guessing he was perhaps a station commander or perhaps an adjutant...I just don't know.....

Can someone may be shed some light??

cheers.

He appears to have made flt Lt in December 1941

Appears that his son may be buried at Rheinberg

Good on you, Neil.....

I found a few things....but wasn't sure if I had the right man.....fancy losing your son that close to the end of the War....terrible.

If that is the same guy, I wander what he was doing at Pocklington......
