Memorials and crash sites in France.

Postby Bill Leyland » Sat Oct 22, 2011 8:03 am

I have found an amazing web site that some of you will find interesting - 'Aerosteles'. The webmaster Pierre Pegastaingts has photographed and given co-odinates for, 2322 crash site memorials throughout France. You have to click on the translate to English button and then put the airframe number on the search page - or location. I was like this  when I saw how many crashes there had actually been in France.

I have just tried the site for Halifax MK II - W7914 DY-A which crashed at Hangest Sur Somme on 22 November 1942 and no result came up.

I apologise about my previous reply

I have found the crash information I was looking for on this French Site for 22 Nov 1942 at Hangest sur Somme, giving quite a lot of information including some of the next of kin of the crew that died.

I have found this site www.francecrashes39-45.net which shows crashes in France along with crew details. The crash I was interested in was on page 3807
see following: http://www.francecrashes39-45.net/page_ ... hp?id=3807
