Good evening everyone,
My name is Andrew Hart. I am a 56 year old ex RNAS Crewman and Royal Marine. I lived in Pocklington for the first 34 years of my life (except for my service time). I think I know Pocklington Airfield as well as any ex 102 Ceylon crew member as I spent years exploring it and finding all the treasures some of your guys left behind. You would be surprised what I dragged home as a child! I now live in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
I am passionate about the airfield, 102 Ceylon Squadron and Pocklington. Next week I am attending the funeral of F/O John Allen, Flight Engine from LW142 102 Ceylon Squadron. His funeral is at Harrogate but he then wants his ashes scattered on Pocklington Airfield. Later in the week I am returning to the Northern Command Cemetery in Harrogate to start photographing the graves. If anyone wants a specific grave photographing then please let me know. I will also pphotograph crew graves in Barmby Moor and Pocklington. If anyone has any questions about Pocklington or Pocklington people then feel free to ask.
Please check out the Pocklington History website where you will find lots of interesting information.

Hi Andrew,

Wecome to the Forum.

Your website is very impressive and covers aspects of the squadron that would not be available otherwise.

I am sure that forum members will be pleased that you are able to attend John Allen's funeral.

Regards,
Simon
