Looking for info one this crew because the Crisfield person is wrong.
No CWGC page for him, Mike usherwood has him as Crossfield, Goss as Chrisfield, neither of which pop on CWGC.

HX149 DY-J took off at around ten minutes past eight at night, on the 21/22nd Jan 1944, from Pocklington.

Leaving Magdeburg at 18,500 feet, intercepted by a night-fighter whose fire severely damaged the flying controls and set alight to the starboard wing.

Crash- site not established.

A very bad 2 nights for 102 - they lost 11 crews between 20/01 and 22/01

Just spotted this enquiry. Curious as to why the previous researchers used W Chorleys wording for the account of the loss - but not his spelling of the crew names! You do need Chorleys records Chris - its the most complete account of all BC losses throughout WWII. I think it is one of the legitimate expenses we have spoken about. Put it to the vote pal.
