Really enjoyed this - covers a number of memorials to crews and squadrons that flew with 4 and 6 group and interesting section on Pocklington and some incidents involving 102 Squadron aircraft.

New one on me this.. will have to investigate.. thanks
For the memory of everyone who served with 102 Ceylon Squadron,
but mostly for the 1,027 in two World Wars who never came home.
Lest we never forget. http://www.102ceylonsquadron.co.uk

well worth a read

relevant section contains 9 photographs:

and a potted history of POCKLINGTON

the crash of JB848 - pilot F/Sgt Bill Comrie

the crash on take-off of JD127 - pilot W/Cdr Stanley Marchbank

and F/Sgt Dai Pugh - crashing into the North Sea 28/29 Jan 1944 returning from ops Berlin in JD165

the whole book is highly recommended

Found this book in a brochure sent with my order of Bomber Command calendar.
I have dropped enough hints to the wife so may get it for Christmas....!! It was £20 and the money, or some, goes to the new memorial so well worth it.
Particular interest as on my grandad's ORB's,George Ollerhead, that his crew flew in one of the aircraft mentioned....think its JD 127.
