William (Bill) Saville

William (Bill) Saville 102 Squadron Ground Crew

Bill Saville was part of 102's ground crew at Pocklington

We are just starting to put together a page for Bill from a web site made by his son John.

We want to thank John for allowing us to use these photo's.

The web site owners firmly believe that it is vitally important that we make as much space for these men, and we are doing for the 'flyers'.

They did an incredible job, in some time aweful conditions, and some of them watched dozens, and dozens of men come and go... not sure how they coped with that.

Please Scroll Down, thanks

Bill Saville is third row last one of the end to the right.

Below are two photo that belonged to Bill. Whilst they are not in the very best of condition we thought it best to add them...

If you look closely you can see the DY code for 102 Squadron

No Idea where Bill got this photo from and sadly you can not see the code on the side.

Bill with the love of his life, Emily.

Bill & Emily Saville were married on February 13, 1943 at Kingsley Hall in Dagenham (then Essex, now the London Borough of Dagenham & Barking). Bill had a 48 hour pass from the RAF. They went on to celebrate their 57th Wedding Anniversary!

Bill died on June 4, 2000.

Webmasters Note: If John will forgive me, looking at the photo on the left, Bill looks as if he's looking at Emily and thinking, 'Boy am I the luckiet man alive!!'

Don't forget, more on Bill and Emily's life can be seen here: Bill Saville
